  1. In "TED's secret to great public speaking," Chris Anderson discusses how your own ideas can affect your feelings towards something. They even have enough power to change someone else's perspective. Then he talks about four steps that will help you get a message across to your audience when you are speaking.

First, you have to discuss only one idea and have context behind it. The second step is to attract your audience with something interesting. The third step is to slowly build up your listeners' knowledge. Lastly, make your idea leave a lasting impression.

I chose to watch it because it had interesting details on how to become an influential speaker. My classmates should check it out, since it could be helpful for them in the future. These tips can shape you into someone who has the potential to change someone's life.

  2. I watched ''If I should have a daughter'' by Sarah Kay. This TED talk was very inspirational. Sarah Kay writes spoken word poetry. Her poems were about the different ways to look at life. I loved everything Sarah said. Her poems are very beautiful and have strong messages. I chose this video because we have been writing poetry in English class and I thought these poems were really great. My favorite line in Sarah's poem is ''The world is made out of sugar, it crumbles so easily but don't forget to stick out your tongue and taste it.'' This means to experience and don't be afraid to do what you want in life because you only get one life to live. My classmates should watch this video because it's entertaining, educational, and inspiring. I enjoyed watching this TED talk. https://www.ted.com/talks/sarah_kay_if_i_should_have_a_daughter

  3. I watched the Ted Talk "The Magic Ingredient That Brings Pixar Movies To Life" by Danielle Feinberg. I first clicked on this specific Ted Talk because I have always been a huge fan of Pixar's work and still am today. After watching about a minute of the video, I realized the difficulty it takes to make a Pixar movie "come alive". I never realized all the time and effort it takes to put everything together as one. To create classic movies such as "Finding Nemo" and "Toy Story", it takes creativity, math, science, and code. This job takes upon the reliance of creating a world that seems real. These ideas become pictures, then scenes, and then make up the enjoyable movies we know and love today. These movies bring tears, laughter, and smiles to us people just as real life situations would. I enjoyed watching this Ted Talk and recommend it to my fellow classmates.

  5. I picked "The Magic Ingredient That Brings Pixar Movies To Life". Pixar holds a special place in my heart, for it is my family's favorite type of movies. Danielle Feinberg talks about how Pixar uses lighting as their secret weapon. She shows how much work goes into creating a movie. Pixar really stands out from other disney movies. I highly recommend that everyone should watch this video, especially if you are a fan of Disney.

  6. https://www.ted.com/talks/chris_anderson_teds_secret_to_great_public_speaking

The video I chose is about a secret of great public speaking. Christian Anderson talks about how people have a more interesting presentation. He explains that it is better to focus on only one idea rather than many so the audience can grasp the idea. Then you have to grab the audience's interest. Also, it is important to build up the idea and have facts to back it up. Finally, make a lasting impression.
I chose to watch it because I have difficulty speaking in public and making sure that the audience is listening. I believe my class mates should watch it because they can learn how to have a better presentation and know how to prevent losing the audience during it.

  7. https://www.ted.com/talks/jessica_ladd_the_reporting_system_that_sexual_assault_survivors_want

In this video, Jessica Ladd announces a new website that can not only give college rape victims the justice they deserve, but even prevent rapes from happening in the first place. If someone is attacked, they might be too afraid or embarrassed to report it. With this website, it is easier, safer, and more comfortable for the victim to speak up about what happened to them. If rape victims speak up about their attack in a way that they feel comfortable, they might reveal more evidence, leading to the arrest of the perpetrator. A website like this can protect many further assaults. I chose to watch this video because sexual assault is a serious problem for both men and women. I believe that my classmates should watch this video because a website like this can protect many people from sexual assault, and it may even prevent these things from happening in the first place.

  8. https://www.ted.com/talks/danielle_feinberg_the_magic_ingredient_that_brings_pixar_movies_to_life#t-3036

I chose to do this video because the title picture was a picture of Nemo and Dori and I love pixar movies. It's all about bringing animated movies to life. Every little detail is equally important, light, mood, color, everything has to be perfect especially the light. Like if you wanted something to see deeper or farther away you would make that darker for distance. I believe you should all check this video out because first it was very interesting and second the woman in the video is telling you about how when she wanted to be an artist or scientist when she was younger, she was put down and now she proved them wrong.

  9. https://www.ted.com/talks/moran_cerf_this_scientist_can_hack_your_dreams

I chose this video because dreaming has always interested me. This video really helped me to understand what goes on in your brain. I enjoyed listening to Moran Cerf talk about thoughts too. I enjoyed listening to him speak about the experiment where they implanted the electrodes in the brain, I thought this was amazing. Science and technology has advanced a lot through out the ages. I suggest that anyone who is interested in near science watch this video.

  10. I watched the video "Before I die I want to..." by Candy Chang.
I chose to watch this because I've just always struggled with what I want to do with my life and I wanted to know what other people wanted to do. I found out that you could do the smallest thing and change your neighborhood, or even the world, so now I don't worry as much. I recommend this video to anyone who thinks their plans are too "simple" because this video will help you learn that your plans for your future could be life-changing and you should realize that your plans aren't stupid.

  11. I chose to watch the TED talk entitled "Two poems about what dogs think (probably)." It intrigued me because I like both dogs and poetry. The TED talk had a guy named Billy Collins recite poetry through the eyes of two different dogs. One poem was about how the dog worshiped his owner and how the dog cherished the owner in its short life. It talked about memories with the dog and owner such as walking through the woods. The other poem was about the dog hating the owner, thinking that all the tricks that were taught to him were insulting. The trick where dogs have to "shake hands" is most insulting because dogs don't have hands. I think my classmates should watch the TED talk because it gives insight into what a dog's mind would be like and the topic is entertaining.

  13. I chose to watch "Can you really tell if a kid is lying?". I picked this one b/c when I saw the title, I began to wonder how good kids are at lying. It turns that kids are very good at lying and that anyone, including the police and the child's own parents, have a 50/50 chance on guessing if the child is lying or not. I think others should watch this video b/c toward the end, the expert starts to talk about how scientists are working on developing technology that could tell how someone feels physically and emotionally.
